How we curate the selection of the best global sustainable brands

Shopping at OASEAS has always been about more than the items in a shopping cart. Since day one, all of our brands have been chosen following strict sustainable criteria to guarantee you total transparency.

Our rating system examines every brand with regards to different criteria of transparency, eco-friendliness, social responsibility and animal welfare. All brands on OASEAS have achieved a minimum score in total and in all sub-categories, implying that we only work with brands that ensure to be truly sustainable and allow you to have a real impact when shopping on our platform. Our assessment is based both on external (brand’s webpage and social media channels) and internal information (direct dialogue with and documents as proof from the brands).

Transparency

Transparency is crucial for sustainability. Only if we know where the materials are coming from, who the people involved in the production process are, and what the life cycle of a garment looks like, it can be ensured that environmentally and socially sustainable practices are applied.

We consider brands’ transparency efforts with regards to disclosure of their production places, traceability of sourcing materials, means of transportation, and if they have any impact report in place.

Eco-Friendliness

We want brands to be at the fore-front of sustainable innovation, and to think about reducing emissions, waste, usage of water and electricity along the whole value chain, minimising the negative impact on our wonderful planet.

To assess eco-friendliness, we consider materials, sustainable production methods and technologies in factories and warehouses, eco-friendly packaging, distance of transportation between production and warehouse location, and circularity and philanthropic projects.
