Celebrities fighting for our planet
On the occasion of Singles' Day Weekend, we want to celebrate those women known internationally for making a difference. Whether they are single or have a soulmate, it doesn't matter. What matters to us is what each of them, as single individuals, has done for the planet and society.
While they seem to enjoy fame, some celebrities are also making a difference in the world. These environmentalists demonstrate a completely different picture of being famous, using their influence for a good cause.

Emma Watson
The "Harry Potter" star is a global advocate for gender equality, not for nothing has she been named a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador in 2014.
Watson participated in education campaigns for girls in Bangladesh, Zambia, and other rural areas of Africa. In addition to that, she also participated in the UN HeForShe movement, fighting for gender equality. We also love her for getting involved in environmental issues and opting for sustainable looks at renowned events.
Meryl Streep
She is one of the world's longest-serving environmental celebrities.
One of her famous activism initiatives was creating the "Mothers & Others Campaign" after publishing the infamous Alar report by the NRDC. The report was intended to rally Americans behind the fight for the introduction of more stringent pesticide standards.
On May she opened the Physicians for Human Rights Virtual Celebration Gala in honor of health and human rights.

Gisele Bündchen
Bündchen is a Brazilian model, entrepreneur, and activist. As a result of her dedication and work in ecological education and conservation, the supermodel has crowned the “Best Green International Celebrity” in 2011.
Her enthusiasm for the environment started way back in 2004 after seeing deforestation and subsequent water pollution in India. Since then, she has been a strong advocate of environmental preservation, doing everything possible to create awareness on environmental issues.
She became the "Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program" in 2019.
Cate Blanchett
Considered one of the most celebrated actresses of her time, Cate Blanchett also tops the most famous environmental activists' list.
Her love for environmental preservation became very evident after the "Greening the Wharf Project." Cate and her husband championed running the Wharf Theatre on Green energy as co-artistic directors.
The project, which saw the installation of 1,900 solar panels in the Theatre, is the source of over 70% of electricity here. And that’s not all. Pairing this with a rainwater harvesting system will, in the long run, turn into a fully carbon-neutral system.

Shailene Woodley
Shailene has been a passionate environmental activist working towards climate change awareness.
She is not just a celebrity but also one of the fearless female environmental leaders of this age. In fact, she is a co-founder of the “All it Takes non-profit organization”, a youth leadership initiative that helps create awareness among youths and urges them to practice compassion, responsibility, and empathy towards others and the environment.
The celebrity is now an Oceans Ambassador for Greenpeace, a title she acquired in 2019.
Cara Delevigne
In January 2019, the model and actor decided to launch #MyEcoResolution to show people the changes they could make – at both an individual and collective level — to tackle the huge environmental challenges we’re facing.
Since then, Delevingne, has been an avid campaigner for climate action and is started a new grassroots charity to help restore our ecosystems called Initiative Earth.
